A jet scent or snuff bottle carved in the form of a pine cone, Indo-Portugese, late 17th Century.

The Eastern influence of this bottle is unmistakable with its ornate gold filigree neck and shoulder and gold filigree base.

The body is encircled by bands of gold wire, 7.8cm.

Whilst it would seem to have the appearance rather of a scent bottle, and may well have been used as such in the past, when restored in 2002, it was found to contain remnants of snuff.
