A Japanese Imari saucer dish, 18th Century.

The dish is decorated with pine, bamboo and prunus and two cranes. Pine, bamboo and prunus together are known as The Three Friends of Winter, symbolising perseverance and resilience, and cranes are considered mystical creatures in Japanese culture, symbolic of good fortune and longevity, 20.3cm.
