The bowl, which sits on a spreading base, is decorated with a dragon and a flaming pearl. The two are often associated in Eastern art, the dragon signifying strength and power, the flaming pearl, variously wisdom, good luck, wealth and prosperity. The base is decorated with prunus and the associated wooden stand, with four cabriole legs, has a carved open work apron of scrolling foliate form, 19.5cm.
