A hair landscape, 19th Century.

In a black wood frame, diameter 7.2cm.

The miniature shows a cascade of water falling into a lake, with trees on a nearby high rocky outcrop.

There are mountains in the distance and a large tree in the right foreground.

It was apparently made of the hair of Elizabeth Burrell (d.1837), third wife of the Henry, 1st Marquess of Exeter (1754-1804), and other members of the Cecil family.
