This unusual oval locket is set with an enamelled miniature of a Pharaoh wearing an elaborate diamond-set head-dress.
It sits within a border of pearls and diamonds, beneath an enamelled cresting and the glazed compartment on the reverse may have been intended to carry a lock of hair.
It carries a French gold assay mark.
