A George III silver-gilt cup and cover, R. Emes and E. Barnard, London, 1819.

On a circular foot chased with a band of scrolling foliage, the lower part of the body with applied acanthus leaves and with entwined serpent handles and a band of vine round the lip.

It is engraved “Stamford Races 1820, Won by Snake”.

The cover with ovolo border and similar bands of foliage to the foot, surmounted by a racehorse finial, height 44.5cm.

Stamped R Garrard Bros., Panton St., London on the base.
