A George III satinwood lady’s writing screen, circa 1785.

The hinged front enclosing a fitted interior and with a reading slope, the reverse with a shelf, the end standards joined by a leaf-carved turned stretcher and on overscrolled legs and castors, 116cm by 156cm.

1804 Inventory: “No. 63, Blue Drawing room, a sattin wood screen writing table.”
