A George III mahogany kneehole desk, circa 1790.

Of wedge shape, the tapered sides with a bow front crossbanded above a shallow frieze dummy drawer.

A pair of fielded panel cupboard doors in the recess are flanked by a bank of four graduated drawers; raised on a solid plinth.

The drawer fronts in particular, display the beautiful flame-like markings in the mahogany, the wood having been taken from the joint between a branch and the main trunk of a tree, 81cm by 202cm.
