A George III harewood and burr yew Pembroke table, circa 1785.

The square top is inlaid with a panel of yew crossbanded in kingwood, the flaps similarly veneered with rectangular panels.

The frieze has a dummy and a real drawer; on square tapering legs and brass castors joined by a later turned crossover stretcher, 70cm by 63cm.

The table is in the style of Mayhew and Ince, the London firm which supplied quantities of furniture to Brownlow, 9th Earl of Exeter (1725-1793).
