A George III Carrara marble chimneypiece by John Richter, circa 1790.

The moulded mantel above a porphyry circle-inlaid edge and a similar blind fluted frieze inset with sprigged motifs, the jambs inlaid with porphyry ovals and circles within leafy fronds and enclosing a steel grate with cast electroplate rococo style mounts, dated 5th June 1844, 148cm by 194cm.
