An early Victorian giltwood settee, circa 1840.

The rectangular upholstered back, seat and scrolled arms are covered in yellow ground floral needlework.

The arm supports leaf-carved and the seat rail panelled and carved with palms; on leaf-carved cabriole legs with claw and ball feet, 223cm.

The settee was possibly ordered prior to the three day State Visit of Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1844.
