A French enamelled two-colour gold-mounted spy-glass.

This elegant piece in two-coloured gold, is enhanced and complemented by a rich ultramarine blue enamel.

The borders are of opaque white within gold interlaced leafage and rosettes.

It was made in Paris in 1768-1774 and carries the discharge mark of Julien Alaterre, though other marks have rubbed, 13cm in length when extended.
