A porcelain snuff bottle, Chinese, mark and period of Qianlong (1736-1795).

The flat bottle is decorated on each side in ‘famille-rose’ enamels with a gathering of figures in a pavilion paying tribute to a dignitary.

The shoulders are decorated with lotus sprays in underglaze blue and gilding.

The matching stopper simulates coral and gilt bronze, 6cm.

it was made in Jingdezhen, the centre for the production of porcelain in China.
