A porcelain snuff bottle, Chinese, 1795-1820.

The bottle is moulded in the form of a tree trunk and decorated in ‘famille-rose’ enamels.

Pine, bamboo and prunus, traditionally known as ‘The Three Friends of Winter,’ are depicted on the white ground, together with a bat and ling chih fungus 8cm.

It was made in Jingdezhen, the main centre in China for the production of porcelain.
