A milkmaid and cow, Dutch Delft, early 18th Century.

The animal stands four square, with head turned to its left, as the milkmaid, straddles a milk bucket.

The group is decorated in cold enamels; the slab base washed in green with applied with leaves, 15.5cm by 24cm.

Simple, fairly plain figures such as this, were typical of the Delft output for the home market during the 18th Century.
