A Classical Landscape, by Hendrik van Lint, called Lo Studio (1684-1763).

Oil on canvas, 21cm by 28.5cm.

The artist was born in Antwerp, but he left for Rome when  young where he would spend the rest of his life.

He joined the Benteveugels, a society of mainly Dutch and Flemish artists working in Rome and became one of the leading landscape artists of the early 18th Century.

He enjoyed the patronage of the great Roman patrician families and European travellers on the Grand Tour.
