A blue and white Yen-Yen vase, Chinese, Kangxi (1662-1722).

The neck section of the vase is painted with figures in a balustraded pavilion, one of whom is a scholar, writing on a scroll.

The body section is painted with nobles in a pavilion, one being fanned by a servant with what appears to be a large plantain leaf.

The pavilion balustrading continues, curling around the lower part of the vase, effectively completing the decorative element, 46cm.
