A 19th Century gold fob seal.

This fob seal is one of a collection of eighteen seals, three of which were exhibited in The Victorians at Burghley exhibition.

It has an oval bloodstone matrix engraved with the Exeter arms.

Bloodstone is a type of jasper, or chalcedony; a microcrystalline quartz.
